Pre-Commission Training: 49 weeks at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gaya, Bihar (or as notified).

Commission Type: Short Service Commission for an initial 10 years, extendable to 14 years.

The SSC (Tech) entry does not have a technical written syllabus. Instead, candidates are tested on their Officer Like Qualities (OLQs) through a 5-day selection process.
Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) Test: Verbal and Non-Verbal reasoning questions (similar to bank/SSC aptitude tests).
Picture Perception & Description Test (PP&DT): Observing a hazy picture for 30 seconds, writing a story in 4 minutes, and participating in a group discussion.
Psychological Tests:
Thematic Apperception Test (TAT): Writing stories based on 12 pictures.
Word Association Test (WAT): Writing sentences on 60 words (15 seconds per word).
Situation Reaction Test (SRT): Reacting to 60 real-life situations.
Self-Description (SD): Writing what parents, teachers, friends, and you think about yourself.
GTO (Group Testing Officer) Tasks: * Group Discussions (GD), Group Planning Exercise (GPE), Progressive Group Task (PGT), Individual Obstacles, and Command Task.
