The Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP ECET 2026) is a state-level entrance examination conducted by JNT University Anantapur on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). It is designed for Diploma Holders in Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy and B.Sc. (Mathematics) Degree Holders seeking lateral entry admission into the second year of regular B.E., B.Tech, and B.Pharmacy courses in University and Un-aided Private Professional Institutions across Andhra Pradesh for the academic year 2026-2027.

The registration fee is dynamically structured based on the applicant's category:
OC (Open Category) Candidates: Rs. 800/-
BC (Backward Class) Candidates: Rs. 750/-
SC/ST Candidates: Rs. 700/- (The fee can be paid online via Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, or at AP Online Centers).

Minimum Age: There is no specific lower age limit prescribed to appear for the AP ECET exam.
Maximum Age: For claiming a fee reimbursement/scholarship under state government schemes, candidates must generally be under 30 years of age (34 years for SC/ST candidates) as of 1st July of the admission year. However, for merely appearing in the exam, there is no upper age limit.
Age Relaxation based on category: Applicable only for fee reimbursement eligibility, as stated above.
Nationality: Candidates must be Indian Nationals and satisfy local/non-local status as per the A.P. Educational Institutions Order, 1974.
Educational Qualification:
Candidates should have obtained a Diploma in Engineering and Technology/Pharmacy from the State Board of Technical Education of Andhra Pradesh or any equivalent recognized diploma.
OR They should have passed the 3-year B.Sc. Degree examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects from a recognized University.
Minimum Marks: Must have secured at least 45% aggregate marks in the qualifying Diploma or B.Sc. Degree (40% for candidates belonging to reserved categories).
AP ECET is an academic entrance examination for lateral entry lateral admissions and not a job recruitment drive; therefore, direct vacancy numbers do not apply. Ten percent (10%) of the total intake in regular B.Tech/B.Pharmacy courses in respective colleges, plus any unfilled vacant seats from first-year admissions, are allotted for lateral entry through AP ECET.
Computer Based Test (CBT): The primary qualification exam for the respective branch.
Preliminary Key & Objections: Review of official answers and submission of challenges.
Result Declaration: Calculation of final normalized scores and assignment of merit rank.
Web Counselling: Phase-wise process involving document verification, exercising web options for colleges/branches, and final seat allotment based on rank, local area, category, and gender reservations.
The AP ECET is an objective-type (Multiple Choice Questions) Computer Based Test (CBT).
Total Duration: 3 Hours (180 Minutes)
Total Marks: 200 Marks (200 Questions; 1 mark per correct answer; No negative marking)

Engineering Paper (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical, etc.): 100 Marks

Pharmaceutical Chemistry: 50 Marks
Pharmacognosy: 50 Marks
Pharmacology: 50 Marks
Subject Breakdown (For B.Sc. Mathematics Graduates):
Mathematics: 100 Marks
Analytical Ability: 50 Marks
Communicative English: 50 Marks
To successfully obtain a rank in the AP ECET, candidates must pass the qualifying threshold:
General / BC Categories: Must secure a minimum of 25% of the aggregate marks (i.e., 50 marks out of a total of 200).
SC / ST Categories: There is no minimum qualifying mark prescribed. The ranking is assigned sequentially based on the marks secured in the exam.
Note: While 50 is the minimum qualifying mark, securing top seats in prime JNTU constituent colleges typically requires scores above 110-120+.
For filling out the Online Application:

Caste/Community Certificate (for SC/ST/BC categories)
Income Certificate of Parents (for fee exemption/scholarship)

Special Category Certificates (NCC, PH, Sports, CAP) if applicable
B.Sc. (Mathematics) candidates will be considered for admission into Engineering courses only after all the eligible Diploma-holding candidates have been accommodated.
B.Sc. candidates are not eligible for lateral entry into Pharmacy courses.
The test will be conducted in English.
Candidates must carefully select the specific branch test (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, EEE) that aligns with their respective diploma discipline, as shifting is generally not allowed.

Click on "Fee Payment" and enter your Diploma/B.Sc. Hall Ticket Number, Name, Date of Birth, and Mobile Number to pay the respective fee via Credit/Debit card or Net Banking.
Note down the "Payment Reference ID" generated upon successful payment.
Proceed to "Fill Application Form" using the Reference ID, Qualifying Exam Hall Ticket Number, and Mobile Number.
Complete the detailed application form, choose the examination center preferences, and upload a recently scanned photograph and signature.
Submit the application and print the "Filled-in Application Form" for future use and verification at the exam center.
Engineering Core (100 Marks): Dedicate 60% of your preparation time to your core branch subjects (e.g., Circuit Theory, Machines, and Power Systems for EEE, or SOM and Surveying for Civil). Utilize standard diploma textbooks and previous years' ECET papers.
Mathematics (50 Marks): Focus heavily on Matrices, Calculus, Differential Equations, and Trigonometry. Standard 11th/12th grade level formulas are crucial.
Physics & Chemistry (50 Marks): Cover standard State Board syllabus concepts. Focus on applied chemistry, thermodynamics, and simple harmonic motion.
Mock Tests: Attempt time-bound tests using the official mock exams provided on the APSCHE website to acclimatize to the CBT interface.
