The Andhra Pradesh Education Common Entrance Test (AP Ed.CET 2026) is a state-level entrance examination conducted on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). The application fee structure varies depending on the candidate's category:
Unreserved (Open Category - OC): Rs. 700/-
Backward Classes (BC): Rs. 600/-
SC / ST Candidates: Rs. 500/- (Fees must be paid through A.P. Online centers, Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking)

Minimum Age: Candidates must have completed 19 years of age as of the 1st of July in the year in which admission is sought (01.07.2026).
Maximum Age: There is no maximum age limit prescribed for appearing in the AP Ed.CET.
Age Relaxation based on category: Not applicable, given there is no upper age restriction.
Nationality & Domicile: Candidates must be Indian Nationals and must satisfy the Local / Non-Local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974.
Educational Qualifications:
Candidates must have passed a B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Sc. (Home Science) / B.Com. / B.C.A. / B.B.M. or a Master's Degree with at least 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/BC/PWD categories).
Candidates possessing a B.E/B.Tech degree with Mathematics and Science as subjects must have a minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
Sub-classification & Reservation: Final seat allotments strictly follow official local/non-local demarcations and scheduled caste sub-classifications as provisioned by state guidelines.
As AP Ed.CET 2026 is an academic entrance examination and not a direct recruitment drive, specific job vacancy details do not apply. The precise seat matrix—detailing intake per institution, reservation category, and teaching methodology—will be published by APSCHE prior to the web counseling phase.
Computer Based Test (CBT): The primary qualification exam.
Preliminary Key & Objections: Release of the official answer key, allowing candidates a window to submit challenges.
Final Result & Rank Declaration: Merit ranks are assigned based on the normalized scores of the CBT.
Web Counselling: Encompasses online document verification, exercising web options for colleges/courses, and final seat allotment based on merit rank, category, and local/non-local reservations.
The AP Ed.CET is conducted strictly as a Computer Based Test (CBT):
Total Duration: 2 Hours (120 minutes)
Total Questions: 150 Objective-type multiple-choice questions
Total Marks: 150 marks (Each correct answer carries 1 mark. There is no negative marking).
Sectional Breakdown:
Part-A: General English (25 Questions, 25 Marks)
Part-B: General Knowledge (15 Questions, 15 Marks) & Teaching Aptitude (10 Questions, 10 Marks)
Part-C: Methodology (100 Questions, 100 Marks) – Chosen by the candidate (e.g., Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Social Studies, English).
To obtain a rank in the merit list, candidates must meet the official qualifying standard:
General / BC Categories: Must secure a minimum of 25% of the aggregate marks (i.e., 37 marks out of 150).
SC / ST Categories: There is no minimum qualifying mark prescribed. Ranking is allocated purely based on relative merit and CBT performance.

Candidates must ensure they select the correct Part-C Methodology during the application process, as this dictates their eligibility for specific B.Ed. specializations and cannot be changed later.

Entry is completely restricted once the examination commences; latecomers will not be allowed inside the hall under any circumstances.

Click on the "Fee Payment" link. Enter your qualifying exam details, Name, Date of Birth, and Mobile Number to process the registration fee via the secure payment gateway.
After successful payment, note down the generated Payment Reference ID.
Proceed to "Fill Application Form" and log in using your Payment Reference ID, Qualifying Exam Hall Ticket Number, and Mobile Number.
Fill in all personal, academic, and reservation details, and select your preferred test centers and methodology.
Upload a recently scanned passport-size photograph and your signature.
Submit the application and print out the "Filled In Application Form" to present at the examination center.
Subject Methodology (Part-C): Since this carries the maximum weightage (100 marks), intensely focus on State Board syllabus textbooks (Classes 8 through Degree level) corresponding to your chosen methodology.
Teaching Aptitude: Practice situational questions that assess pedagogical understanding, classroom management, and educational psychology. Books like "Teaching Aptitude & Attitude Test" by R. Gupta are solid reference points.
General English & GK: Strengthen basic grammar (using Wren & Martin) and read daily newspapers to cover current affairs effectively for Parts A and B.
