The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) invites applications from high-performing Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates for its prestigious training programs.
Successful candidates will be appointed as Scientific Officer (Group ‘A’ – Gazetted) in the Government of India.

One-Year Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates

DGFS 2026

Two-Year DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates
– Candidates pursue M.Tech at selected institutes while receiving a stipend from DAE.

Salary & Benefits

During Training

• Monthly Stipend: ₹74,000

• One-time Book Allowance

After Appointment

• Pay Level: Level 10 (7th CPC Pay Matrix)

• Basic Pay: ₹56,100

• Total Monthly Emoluments: Approx. ₹1,35,000
  (For Mumbai posting, including HRA & other allowances)

Eligibility Criteria

Engineering Graduates

• Qualifications:
  B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engg.) / 5-Year Integrated M.Tech

• Minimum Marks: 60% aggregate

Eligible Disciplines:

• Civil

• Mechanical

• Electrical

• Electronics

• Computer Science

• Instrumentation

• Chemical

• Metallurgy

Science Postgraduates

• Qualifications:
  M.Sc. / Integrated M.Sc

• Minimum Marks: 60% aggregate

Eligible Disciplines:

• Physics

• Chemistry

• Biosciences

• Geology

• Geophysics

Final Year Students

• Candidates appearing in final year exams by Summer 2026 are eligible to apply.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of two stages:

1. Screening

• BARC Online Examination (March 2026)
  OR

• Valid GATE Score (2024 / 2025 / 2026)

2. Selection Interview

• Shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews at:
  Mumbai / Hyderabad

• Tentative period: May – June 2026
